Live! The newest addition to the casino and hotel, Sports & Social, will open on April 29, and will include more gaming, an abundance of video screens for sports fans to watch games, and once Maryland lawmakers give the go-ahead. After, sports betting will be legalized.

It is the first Sports & Social to open in Maryland. A second location will open this fall at the Pike & Rose development in Bethesda.

Sports and Social on Live! The casino underwent a $12 million expansion that replaced its former Center Stage performance space in the center of its casino floor.

The nearly 14,000-square-foot, 212-seat venue features a state-of-the-art audio/visual system with more than 100 linear feet of LED screens, including a 47-foot-wide main screen. The casino says guests will be able to watch at least 10 games at a time.

It features two main bars, a VIP lounge, tiered game-viewing lounge chairs, casino games including blackjack and roulette, and interactive social games including mini-bowling and giant foosball.

Fanduel Launches Retail Sportsbook At Live! Casino Hotel Maryland

Live! The casino already has a partnership with FanDuel and, pending final approval, the new location will have several options for placing bets, including self-service kiosks and retail windows.

Maryland voters approved a ballot initiative to legalize sports betting in 2020. A bill to do so has already passed both the Maryland House and Senate and is awaiting Gov. Larry Hogan’s signature. Legal betting could begin in Maryland as soon as this fall.

Sports & Social’s North Bethesda location will be about half the size of the Live! location, but will still wake up in the video screen. There will also be an outdoor patio and live music.

Sports & Social is a division of Live! Casino and hotel owner Cordish Companies. It recently opened more new venues at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Live! Casino in Pittsburgh, and Life Casino and Hotel in Philadelphia. Atlanta Braves’ Trust Park, Texas Rangers’ Globe Life Park and Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium are others.
