Many of us enjoy having a good time and being entertained, but how often do we consider our leisure activity’s impact on the world around us?
It’s important to recognize that entertainment companies can be harmful to the environment.
What if there was a way to have fun that was responsible and sustainable?
This is precisely what Breakout® aims to accomplish by being an environmentally conscious and eco-friendly company that provides sustainable entertainment options with its Escape Rooms and other ventures!
As Mr. Manjunath, our Infrastructure Manager put it, “At Breakout®, we believe that our fun should not be at the expense of anything. Not even the environment. That’s why we took the initiative to incorporate sustainable practices in our operations.”
So, How does Breakout® do this?
- We plant Trees
That’s correct! We plant trees to neutralize the release of carbon dioxide emissions resulting from our activities.
Our escape rooms in Bangalore consume around 20 MW of electricity per year. Based on estimates by the Central Electricity Authority in India, each MW produces approximately 850 kilograms of CO2 emissions.
We need to plant approximately 680 trees to offset our annual electricity consumption, as each tree can absorb around 25 kilograms of CO2 annually.
- Energy consumption is minimal
At Breakout®, we prioritize the use of sustainable electrical products to minimize our environmental impact.
To reduce electricity consumption, we use LED lights and appliances that are rated 5-stars, including air conditioners and refrigerators.
Interestingly, the dim lighting in our escape rooms also helps to offset our carbon footprint. So, while you enjoy solving mysteries, you are also contributing to sustainability efforts in multiple ways. 😊
- Eco-friendly cleaning liquids
It’s easy to overlook that many cleaning products contain harmful chemicals that can negatively impact the environment.
However, at Breakout®, we are conscious of this issue and have taken steps to address it. We use cleaning liquids made from bioproducts and essential oils, which are environmentally friendly.
Even our handwash and dishwashing products are made from sustainable materials, so you can rest assured that your visit to Breakout® is not only enjoyable but also environmentally conscious.
- Eco-friendly consumables
We take several measures to minimize our paper consumption and reduce waste.
For example, we encourage customers to book their visits online, which helps to reduce paper waste. Additionally, we use sustainable consumables such as tissue paper, straws, cups, and biodegradable plates, which can be easily recycled.
Moreover, we use stationery made of recyclable paper, which further contributes to reducing harmful environmental chemicals. By taking these steps, we strive to minimize our environmental impact and be an eco-friendly business that provides an enjoyable experience for our customers.
- Eco-friendly parties
Throwing a party can result in significant electricity consumption. For example, a 3-hour party can consume around 30 kilowatt-hours of energy, equivalent to 25 kilograms of CO2 emissions.
To offset your birthday party’s or corporate event’s carbon footprint, the birthday party planners at Breakout® plant one tree for every event. By doing so, we strive to minimize the environmental impact of your celebrations and promote a more sustainable way of partying.
- Food wastage
At Breakout®, we serve food in-house at our Breakout® Bistro and believe in minimizing food waste. That’s why we ensure that any excess food is put to good use rather than being needlessly thrown away.
We strive to avoid food waste by carefully planning the food needed for each event and carefully handling any excess that arises. By doing so, we hope to reduce our environmental impact and contribute to a more sustainable future.
- Eco-friendly décor
We take sustainable entertainment seriously. That’s why all of our party décors are made from biodegradable and recyclable paper. From streamers to balloons and posters, every item can be reused and recycled, cutting down on paper and plastic waste.
By using these eco-friendly products, not only are we protecting the planet, but we’re also reducing costs.
We invite you to join us in our mission to make entertainment more sustainable and revolutionize experiences while still having fun.
